Rusar is the collective name under which the abstract artist Miek van Kleef is creating her works.
Inspired by the open space in Zeeland and the cold water of the North Sea, she moved from the big city to a coastal town at the edge of the Netherlands. Her works are heavily influenced by the dark water and the cold, wild waves she gets lost in during her surfing trips and her cold water swimming.
She loves mainly to work on big scale, as there is more space for movement and impactful markmaking. Although always inspired by the water, her work stays abstract and influenced by internal expression.
